An update and pictures from the ongoing upgrade of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Oyo Annexe.
The project commenced on 18 February 2026 following Governor Seyi Makinde’s announcement on 8 December 2025 that the facility would be reconstructed and upgraded to make it fully operational.
The upgrade covers the rehabilitation of existing clinic and administrative buildings and the construction of new facilities, including 400-bed male and female wards (200 each), an Accident and Emergency Unit, laboratories, maternity and intensive care facilities, a diagnostic centre, student hostels and staff quarters.
Supporting infrastructure, including internal roads, potable water, power infrastructure, solar security lighting and a mortuary, is also being delivered.
When completed, the upgraded annexe will significantly expand healthcare capacity in the Oyo Zone, improve access to emergency and specialist care, and support the training of medical personnel.
The project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
