The Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub: Updated on 13 February 2025

An update on the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub which is emerging as a game-changer in Oyo State’s agribusiness landscape. Spanning 1,200 hectares, this hub is designed to support large-scale agricultural production, processing, and agritourism, creating a sustainable ecosystem for investors, farmers, and businesses in the sector.

A Fully Subscribed Hub Driving Agribusiness Growth

The Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub was once the moribund Fasola Farm Settlement and was picked as the pilot of three farm settlements (along with Eruwa and Akufo) to be reconstructed into an agribusiness industrial hub. The Fasola Hub, which is nearly completed, already has ten different medium-large-scale agribusinesses operating fully at the hub engaged in crop production, livestock production, mechanisation and processing enterprises, reinforcing Oyo State’s position as a leader in agribusiness development.

Key Investors at Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub:

  • FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC – Dairy production.
  • Milkin Barn Agro Services Ltd – Grains cultivation and dairy production.
  • IITA GoSeed – Cassava, cowpea, maize, and soybeans production.
  • E4 Farms – Crop and dairy production.
  • BrownHill Farms – Crop production and greenhouses.
  • Sigma Farms – Cashew production.
  • Agridrive – Focused on farm mechanisation and cassava processing.
  • African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF) – Driving cassava mechanisation and processing in Oyo State.
  • Grandir Agribusiness Company Limited – Cashew processing.
  • Rita Global Resources – Cassava processing.

This strategic investment in Fasola strengthens Oyo State’s agribusiness sector, combining private-sector expertise with government-led infrastructure development.

Infrastructure: A Hub Built for the Future

The Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub is designed with state-of-the-art infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations for all stakeholders. Some of the ongoing developments include:

  • Processing centres to support value addition.
  • A dedicated clinic and fire station for safety and welfare.
  • Luxury homes and guest houses for investors and workers.
  • A crèche and other support facilities for families in the hub.
  • Well-planned internal and external road networks for easy transportation
  • 24/7 security ensuring a safe and efficient work environment

The hub has three dedicated gates for efficient operations:

  • Gate 1: Production Zone
  • Gate 2: Administrative and Business Operations
  • Gate 3: Industrial and Factory Zone

Fasola: A Hub for Innovation in Agriculture

Beyond its role as an agribusiness investment destination, Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub is also setting the stage for agricultural innovation. Through collaborations with institutions like IITA GoSeed, improved crop varieties are being cultivated, including:

  • Cassava varieties such as Ayaya, Dixon, Baba 70, Game Changer, TME 419, Obasanjo 2, and Farmer’s Pride
  • Advanced farm mechanisation techniques introduced by Agridrive and AATF

Strategic Location: Access Made Easy

The Oyo-Iseyin Road, a federal road reconstructed by the Oyo State Government, plays a critical role in Fasola’s accessibility. This road directly links the Oyo and Oke-Ogun Zones, ensuring seamless transportation of goods and services.

FrieslandCampina WAMCO Expands into Fasola

A significant milestone for Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub was the entry of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, a global leader in dairy production. The company has secured 200 hectares in Fasola to establish livestock breeding and dairy processing.

Director-General of OYSADA, Dr Debo Akande, describes the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub as a pilot project, highlighting that the government plans to replicate this model across the State, ensuring long-term economic benefits and sustained revenue generation. The Eruwa Agribusiness Industrial Hub is one.

The Future of Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub

With work nearing completion on its centres, Fasola is poised to become Nigeria’s major agribusiness and agrotourism destination. The hub is already fully subscribed, demonstrating investors’ confidence in its potential.

The road network at the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub (8.43 km) is part of the rehabilitation projects to be undertaken under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) in Oyo State. The project is jointly financed by the International Development Association (IDA), the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Oyo State Government and will commence in Q1 2025.

The Oyo State Government, through the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), remains committed to ensuring that the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub becomes a benchmark for agribusiness development in Nigeria and beyond.

Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub is not just an investment location—it is the future of agribusiness in Oyo State. With a visionary approach, strategic partnerships, and world-class infrastructure, it is set to transform agriculture, attract more investors, and drive economic prosperity in Oyo State.
