The Oyo State Government, under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), continues to make steady progress on the reconstruction of the 4.73 km Tewure Market–Ila Junction Road in Oriire Local Government Area. This rural road serves farming communities, traders, and transporters who rely on it daily to move agricultural produce to markets and access essential services. The ongoing reconstruction is aimed at restoring safe, reliable, and all-season access along this corridor.

The project involves comprehensive road rehabilitation works, including earthworks, improved drainage structures, and surfacing. These improvements will help reduce travel time, lower vehicle operating costs, and minimise post-harvest losses by ensuring smoother movement of farm produce.

The Tewure Market–Ila Junction Road is one of several roads currently being upgraded across the State under RAAMP, a programme co-funded by the Oyo State Government, the World Bank, and the French Development Agency (AFD). The other roads include the 37.1 km Alako–Idiya–Batake–Olowa Farm Settlement-Ijaiye in Ido LGA; the 6.82 km FRSC (Ago Are–Saki Link)–Okudi Oyada (Tede) Road in Atisbo and Saki West LGAs; the Adebayo-Alata-Obebe-Aba Oje Road (8.85 km) in Oluyole LGA; the 8.43 km Fasola Farm Settlement Road Network in Oyo West LGA; and the 21.96 km Oloko Oyo Junction–Ikere Road in Iseyin LGA.

In addition to roads, RAAMP is also supporting the upgrade of key rural markets to strengthen agricultural value chains and improve livelihoods. Markets being upgraded under RAAMP are; Aare Alasa Market in Ona Ara LGA, Oja Agbe Market in Iseyin LGA, and Oja Oba Market in Ibarapa Central LGA.

As construction progresses, residents and road users are advised to exercise caution around work areas and cooperate with site traffic management measures.

The Oyo State Government remains committed to improving rural connectivity, boosting agricultural productivity, and enhancing economic opportunities for communities across the State.
