Ongoing Reconstruction of the 6.82 km FRSC (Ago Are Saki Link)-Okudi Oyada (Tede), Atisbo and Saki West LGA, under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP)

Reconstruction of the 6.82 km FRSC (Ago Are Saki Link)-Okudi Oyada (Tede), Atisbo and Saki West LGA, under RAAMP, taken on 26 June 2025

Rehabilitation works have begun on the FRSC (Ago Are–Saki Link)–Okudi Oyada (Tede) Road in Atisbo and Saki West Local Government Areas, a 6.82-kilometre stretch that plays a critical role in rural mobility within the Oke Ogun region. The project is part of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), which is improving a total of 87.89 km of rural roads across seven LGAs in Oyo State in the first phase.

The FRSC (Ago Are–Saki Link)–Okudi Oyada (Tede) Road in Atisbo and Saki West Local Government Areas connects farming communities to key trade points. Once completed, the road will feature culverts, bridges, and a single coat surface dressing, with the full project expected to be delivered in under eight (8) months.

More than just road repairs, this initiative is about:

  • Strengthening supply chains between rural producers and urban markets,
  • Supporting the expansion of agribusiness activities in Oke Ogun, and
  • Enhancing livelihoods by improving access to economic and social infrastructure.

As part of its long-term rural development strategy, the Oyo State Government is using projects like this to unlock the potential of its agricultural zones, reduce rural isolation, and encourage equitable economic growth and development across zones.

Last week, we brought you the update on the rehabilitation of the 4.73 km Tewure Market-Ila Junction Road in Oriire Local Government Area, one of the roads being worked on under RAAMP. Updates on ongoing RAAMP roads can be followed through the Oyo State Government Feedback Service on social media and this blog.
