An update and pictures from the ongoing construction of the 3.5 km Bonded Warehouse and Container Terminal Road, linking the Moniya-Iseyin Road and the Old Moniya-Oyo Road by the Akinyele Local Government Council.

The road provides access to the Bonded Warehouse and Container Terminal, which is currently being constructed by the Akinyele Local Government Council.

Construction of the road commenced in May 2026 and is scheduled for completion within one year. The project is being executed by Track Care Global Construction Company Ltd.

The 3.5 km Bonded Warehouse and Container Terminal Road links the Moniya-Iseyin Road and the Old Moniya-Oyo Road. It is being developed as a dual carriageway, with a median and rigid pavement. The scope also includes drainage on both sides of the road and walkways, providing supporting infrastructure for drainage, pedestrian movement and road use.

The Bonded Warehouse and Container Terminal is being developed to support import and export activities in Oyo State. When completed, it is expected to allow inbound containers and imported items to come directly to the terminal via rail for customs inspection and release, reducing delays associated with processing at ports in Lagos State.

The terminal is a project of the Akinyele Local Government Council and is separate from the Federal Government and the Nigerian Shippers’ Council Dry Port project.

The road is also part of a wider network of ongoing road construction around Moniya.

Another major ongoing project in Akinyele Local Government is the 13.6 km Ojoo Interchange-IITA-Moniya Junction-Akinyele Interchange with Spurs to New Oyo Expressway, Ibadan.

As construction progresses, the 3.5 km road is being developed to provide access to the new terminal while improving local connectivity and supporting trade and logistics within Oyo State.
