An update and pictures of the ongoing dualisation of the Ojoo Interchange-IITA-Moniya Junction-Akinyele Interchange with Spurs to New Oyo Expressway, Ibadan (13.6 km).
Work is ongoing on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the 13.6 km Ojoo Interchange-IITA-Moniya Junction-Akinyele Interchange Road, including spurs connecting to the New Oyo Expressway in Ibadan.
The project was approved by the Oyo State Executive Council in September 2025 as part of ongoing efforts to improve transportation corridors within Ibadan and strengthen road connectivity across the State capital.
The reconstruction was awarded to Homan Engineering Company Limited, with the project scheduled for completion within 18 months.
Upon completion, the road will be a six-lane dual carriageway aimed at improving traffic flow, easing congestion, and enhancing movement. The corridor serves as a major link connecting different parts of Ibadan with surrounding communities and neighbouring states, making it an important route for commuters, businesses, transporters, and other road users.
The project forms part of broader infrastructure interventions by the Oyo State Government targeted at improving urban mobility, supporting economic activities, and providing safer and more durable road infrastructure across the State.
