An update on a new project – the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the 48 km Ido-Eruwa Road. The road reconstruction and rehabilitation was flagged off on February 2, 2023, by Governor Seyi Makinde with an estimated completion period of one year.
The Ido-Eruwa Road project which was awarded by the previous administration was not done. Governor Seyi Makinde has promised that the Oyo State Government will recover the funds already paid to the previous contractor by the past administration.
The Ido-Eruwa Road will link the Ibadan and Ibarapa Zones of Oyo State. This is in line with Governor Makinde’s promise to connect all five zones in the state to promote economic activities and rural-urban migration. The other major roads that connect zones in the state are:
Ibadan and Oke Ogun Zones – Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin Road (65 km)
Oyo and Oke Ogun Zones – Oyo-Iseyin Road (34.85 km)
Oke Ogun and Ogbomoso Zones – Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso Road (76.7 km)
Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun Zones – Igboora-Igangan-Iganna Road (38 km)
