An update and pictures of the ongoing reconstruction of the Ido-Eruwa (48 km) road project.
Significant progress has continued on the reconstruction of the 48 km Ido-Eruwa Road, with multiple sections now visibly transformed and key stretches nearing completion. Earthworks, drainage systems, and asphalt laying have advanced steadily across both the Ido and Eruwa axes, covering the Ido and Ibarapa East Local Government Areas of the State.
The project, which was originally awarded to HFP Engineering Nigeria Limited, has been reawarded to Kopek Construction Limited following consultation with Ibarapa people. A total of 20 km of the 48 km has been completed, while work on the remaining 28 km is ongoing. The project is scheduled to be completed before May 2027.
The Ido–Eruwa Road remains a critical link between the Ibadan and Ibarapa Zones, and its ongoing reconstruction reflects a sustained commitment to strengthening inter-zonal access. Other roads built by this administration that connect zones and improve access are the 65 km Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin Road (connecting Ibadan and Oke Ogun Zones); the 34.85 km Oyo-Iseyin Road (connecting Oyo and Oke Ogun Zones); the 38 km Igboora-Igangan-Iganna Road (connecting Ibarapa and Oke Ogun Zones); and the 76.67 km Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso Road (connecting Oke Ogun and Ogbomoso Zones). As work progresses towards completion, the road is expected to enhance regional integration further, support economic activity, and improve travel conditions for residents and businesses alike.
Governor Seyi Makinde’s broader infrastructure drive continues to prioritise strategic road networks that connect communities, reduce travel time, and open up economic opportunities across Oyo State, one of which is the Oyo State Agribusiness Transformation Centre, Eruwa.
