The Oyo State Government is progressing with the reconstruction of Oja Agbe Market in Iseyin Local Government Area under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP). RAAMP is co-funded by the Oyo State Government, the World Bank, and the French Development Agency (AFD).
The project is being executed by Lee Fakino Nigeria Limited and is one of the contracts awarded by the Oyo State Government for the upgrade of three rural markets across the State.
In addition to Oja Agbe Market, upgrade works are ongoing at Olorunda Aare Alasa Market, Akanran, Ona Ara LGA, and Oja Oba Market in Ibarapa Central LGA. These interventions include improvements to market facilities, aimed at enhancing safety, hygiene, and ease of trading.
Beyond market upgrades, RAAMP construction activities are also underway on key rural roads across Oyo State, including:
- The 37.1 km Alako–Idiya–Batake–Olowa Farm Settlement–Ijaiye Road in Ido LGA
- The 6.82 km FRSC (Ago Are–Saki Link)–Okudi Oyada (Tede) Road in Atisbo and Saki West LGAs
- The 4.73 km Tewure Market–Ila Junction Road in Oriire LGA
- The Fasola Farm Settlement Road Network (8.43 km) in Oyo West LGA
- The Oloko Oyo Junction–Ikere Road (21.96 km) in Iseyin LGA
- The Adebayo–Alata–Obebe–Aba Oje Road (8.85 km) in Oluyole LGA
These interventions are designed to improve market access, boost agricultural trade, and strengthen rural economic activity across Oyo State. By creating organised, safer, and more accessible markets, RAAMP continues to support farmers, traders, and buyers while reinforcing the State’s broader rural development and agribusiness growth agenda.
