An update on the renovation of Primary Health Centres in Oyo Zone (Atiba and Afijio Local Government Areas). In keeping with Governor Seyi Makinde’s Oyo State Roadmap for Accelerated Development 2019-2023, the Oyo State Government is constructing/renovating, equipping and staffing at least one primary health centre in each of the 351 wards of Oyo State.
In March 2021, the Oyo State Government awarded the contract for the renovation and upgrade of 299 primary health centres across the state. This contract includes equipping the renovated primary health centres. Additionally, solar energy systems are being installed in some of the primary health centres to ensure uninterrupted power supply. The renovation and upgrade of these primary health centres is being funded by the state and local government authorities.
To ensure that these primary health centres are adequately staffed, the Oyo State Primary Healthcare Board is currently recruiting various healthcare workers to fill available vacancies. Interested applicants may apply here.
Below is a slideshow of pictures of primary health centres which have been renovated in Oyo Zone. Equipping and staffing of these primary health centres is ongoing.
