An update and pictures from the ongoing reconstruction of the 3.78 km Akala Way-Akobo Junction road. Construction has resumed on the 3.78 km Akala Way–Akobo Junction Road, which stretches from Akala Estate to Akobo Junction in Lagelu Local Government Area.
The project, which had previously experienced a period of inactivity, is now back on track.
Scope of Work (Ongoing and Upcoming):
- Construction of hydraulic structures
- Execution of earthworks
- Asphaltic surfacing of the entire stretch
Current Progress:
- Drainage construction works ongoing
- Earthworks and asphalting will follow in the next phase
Once completed, the road will ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity within Akobo and neighbouring areas, and further boost residential and commercial development.
The resumption of work on the Akala Way–Akobo Junction Road reaffirms the Oyo State Government’s dedication to completing key infrastructure projects that enhance mobility, stimulate local economies, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
