The Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) are collaborating to develop the moribund former Rural Community Development Centre (RCDC), Awe into an agribusiness hub called Oyo State-IITA Youth Agribusiness Incubation Park Centre, Awe.
100 youths are currently undergoing training at the centre while another 1,000 youths will be trained later this year. OYSADA is replicating this incubation park centre in Tede, Oke-Ogun and Igbo-Ora, Ibarapa.
Size of site – 210 hectares.
22 hectares of oil palm
10 hectares of cashews
100 hectares of land for field crop production

IITA is to assist with training and outreach as well as enterprise development while the Oyo State Government will provide security and basic infrastructure including power and water.

Nice initiative, please let’s try to upgrade our farm settlements to an habitable standard which is scattered across the state which will be characterized with good roads for easy harvest offtaking, good and moderate standard school for the farmers children,higenic and portable watersurply, good electrical /generator or sollar power source ,for the abode area coupled with good internet facilities, which can engage the youth and by so doing gradually discongesting the city.
