An update and pictures of the nearly completed construction of the Faculty Building for the College of Agriculture, LAUTECH Iseyin.

Construction of the new Faculty Building for the College of Agriculture at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Iseyin Campus, is nearing completion.

The project, undertaken by the Oyo State Government, is part of ongoing constructions happening within the LAUTECH Iseyin Campus aimed at providing a modern learning and research environment for students and staff of the institution.

Designed as a multi-storey academic complex, the facility will accommodate lecture spaces, laboratories, administrative offices, conference rooms, and other essential support facilities to meet the needs of the College of Agriculture.

Ground Floor of the Faculty Building

The ground floor is designed to support practical learning and departmental administration. It comprises:

  • Twelve laboratories, each with an adjoining office and storage room.
  • Six departmental offices for Heads of Department and their secretaries.
  • Six departmental conference rooms.
  • Six professors’ offices.
  • A 200-seat lecture theatre with a storage room and backstage area.
  • Two shops.
  • Twenty-six public toilets and six private toilets serving departmental offices of the HOD.

First Floor

The first floor expands the teaching and administrative facilities with:

  • Twelve lecture rooms, each with a seating capacity of 48 students.
  • A 200-seat lecture theatre with storage and backstage facilities.
  • A faculty library with an adjoining storage room.
  • Two faculty administrative offices.
  • Offices for the Sub-Dean and secretary.
  • A faculty general storage room.
  • Twenty-eight offices.
  • Twenty-four public toilets, two library toilets, and a private toilet for the Sub-Dean.

Second Floor

The second floor provides additional teaching and management spaces, including:

  • Thirteen lecture rooms, each accommodating 48 students.
  • Two conference rooms.
  • A 200-seat lecture theatre with storage and backstage facilities.
  • Twenty-nine offices.
  • The Dean’s office, the secretary’s office, and a control room.
  • Twenty-four public toilets and a private toilet for the Dean.

Once completed, the new faculty building will significantly expand the College of Agriculture’s teaching, research, and administrative capacity. The modern facility is expected to provide a more conducive environment for learning, practical training, and academic collaboration, further strengthening LAUTECH Iseyin Campus as a centre for agricultural education and innovation in Oyo State.

Recall that the LAUTECH Iseyin Campus was inaugurated on Friday, 15 September, 2023 and 1,533 students were scheduled to resume at the campus in October 2023.
