An update and pictures of the ongoing reconstruction of the 3.79 km Akala Road (Olundegun Junction/Tesmore Junction) by Lagelu Local Government Council.
The Lagelu Local Government Council is currently reconstructing the 3.79 km Akala Road (Olundegun Junction/Tesmore Junction). The project aims to improve mobility, enhance access within surrounding communities, and strengthen the local road network.
The reconstruction of Akala Road (Olundegun Junction to Tesmore Junction) is part of the Lagelu Local Government Council’s broader effort to strengthen critical road infrastructure across the area. This ongoing intervention builds on previous projects such as the 8.3 km Akobo–Ojurin/Odogbo Barracks–Olorunda Abaa Junction Road and the Wofun Junction–Rail Line Road (1.34 km), reflecting a coordinated approach to improving connectivity within Lagelu.
Together, these projects aim to enhance movement across key corridors, ease daily commuting, support local economic activities, and provide safer, more durable transportation routes for residents, businesses, and commuters.
The project is being executed by Samchase Nigeria Limited, with a completion timeline of 12 months.
Current works on site include earthworks, drainage construction, and preparation of the road base ahead of further structural layers. These activities are essential to ensuring that the road meets durability standards and can withstand regular vehicular movement over time.
The reconstruction of the Akala Road (Olundegun Junction/Tesmore Junction) is one of several infrastructure projects being implemented by the Local Government Councils across Oyo State to improve connectivity and enhance the overall development of the area.
