An update and pictures of the ongoing rehabilitation of the Fasola Farm Settlement Road (8.43 km) in Oyo West LGA, under RAAMP. Rehabilitation works are currently ongoing on the 8.43 km Fasola Farm Settlement Road in Oyo West Local Government Area under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP). The Fasola Farm Settlement has been upgraded to the Oyo State Agricultural Transformation Centre, Fasola, a strategic hub for agricultural production and agribusiness activities in the State.

This intervention is designed to strengthen rural connectivity within the centre and improve access within it. Upon completion, the rehabilitated road is expected to ease the movement of farm produce, reduce transportation costs for farmers and agro-processors, and minimise post-harvest losses associated with poor road conditions.

By improving access to this critical agricultural corridor, the project will also support private-sector participation, encourage agribusiness investment, and enhance the overall efficiency of value chains operating within and outside the centre. The completed Oyo-Iseyin Road (34.85 km) reconstruction is a complementary project as it links the centre to Oyo and Oke-Ogun Zones.

The rehabilitation of the Fasola Farm Settlement Road is being executed by Dephanny’s Venture Limited. It is co-funded by the World Bank, the Oyo State Government, and the Agence Française de Développement.

The Fasola Farm Settlement Road is one of several rural road projects currently being implemented across Oyo State through RAAMP. Others are the 21.96 km Oloko–Oyo Junction–Ikere Road in Iseyin LGA; the 37.1 km Alako–Idiya–Batake–Olowa Farm Settlement–Ijaiye Road in Ido LGA; the 6.82 km FRSC (Ago Are–Saki Link)–Okudi Oyada (Tede) Road in Atisbo and Saki West LGAs; the 4.73 km Tewure market-Ila Junction Road, Oriire LGA; and the 8.85 km Adebayo-Alata Obebe-Aba Oje Road in Oluyole LGA.

In addition to road rehabilitation, RAAMP is supporting the upgrade of key rural markets across the State, including Oja Agbe Market in Iseyin LGA, Olorunda Aare Alasa Market in Akanran (Ona Ara LGA), and Oja Oba Market in Ibarapa Central LGA. These complementary interventions are designed to improve market access and strengthen agricultural trade.

Together, the Oyo State Government is showing its commitment to driving inclusive economic growth through agriculture. By improving access within agribusiness transformation centres such as Fasola, RAAMP is helping to unlock productivity, connect farmers to markets, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural communities across the State.
