Materials for the Omituntun Free Medical Mission

The Oyo State Ministry of Health flagged-off the 1st Quarter Omituntun Free Medical Mission on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, at the Ibadan North East Local Government Secretariat, Iwo Road, Ibadan. The flag-off ceremony was led by Governor Seyi Makinde.

As part of Governor Makinde’s ongoing commitment to delivering people-centred governance, the Omituntun Free Medical Mission provides free and accessible healthcare services to residents across Oyo State in all 33 Local Government Areas, focusing on the elderly, women, and children.

Services available during the medical outreach include:

  • General medical consultations
  • Blood pressure and blood sugar screenings
  • Surgeries
  • Dental Care                      
  • Eye Care
  • Tuberculosis Screening      
  • Cervical Cancer Screening
  • Breast Cancer Screening     
  • Physiotherapy
  • Dispensing of essential medications
  • Health talks and lifestyle counselling

This medical mission underscores the efforts of the Ministry of Health to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and ensure that every resident, regardless of income or location, has access to quality healthcare.

The Oyo State Ministry of Health invites all residents in neighbouring communities to come out, get checked, and take a step toward better health.

This mission reflects Governor Seyi Makinde’s strong commitment to the health and well-being of the people of Oyo State. To this end, over 209 Primary Healthcare Centres in Oyo State have been upgraded while 264 PHCs have been equipped. Presently, another 106 Primary Healthcare Centres across the State in all 33 Local Government Areas of the State are being upgraded.
