Ad hoc Environmental Health Officers’ (EHOs) Induction
The Oyo State Government inducted 330 ad hoc Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) in Ibadan. The EHOs are empowered to sensitise the public on proper waste management practices and enforce environmental health laws in Oyo State. (July 30, 2022)
PSP Verification
The Oyo State Government conducted a verification exercise for 235 Private Sector Participants (PSPs) in the state involved in waste management. The process was a collaboration between the Oyo State Waste Management Authority (OYOWMA) and Oyo State’s new waste management consultant Mottainai Recycling Ltd. The exercise started on Monday, August, 1 and ends on Friday, August 5, 2022. (August 1, 2022)
Oyo State Civil Service: Capacity Building Workshop
The Oyo State Government organised a six-day training workshop for 350 senior officers in the public/civil service. The training was organised by the Oyo State Ministry of Establishments and Training in collaboration with Klover Harris Innovative Solutions. Speaking at the opening ceremony which was held at the Ibadan Business School, Governor Seyi Makinde restated that his administration remains committed to ensuring that the welfare of public/civil servants in Oyo State is prioritised. Governor Makinde urged those present to continue to put in their best in carrying out their responsibilities. (August 2, 2022)
Pilgrimage: Hajj 2022
The last batch of Oyo State pilgrims returned to Nigeria from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The sixty (60) Pilgrims who were led by the Vice-Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Muslim Wing, Dr. Ibrahim Adebolu, arrived aboard a Flynas XY7036 Airline which left Jedda Airport around 1:00 am Nigerian time and landed at the Muritala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) Ikeja, Lagos State exactly 6:50 am. Condolence visit to Aseyin of Iseyin’s family
Governor Seyi Makinde paid a condolence visit to the family of Aseyin of Iseyin. During the visit, Governor Makinde praised the Aseyin, who joined his ancestors on July 24, 2022, for his commitment to the people of Iseyin and Oyo State. He also said his administration would give the Aseyin a befitting burial by the government. (August 4, 2022)
Cassava-Based Sorbitol Factory Commissioned
Governor Seyi Makinde commissioned the first cassava-based sorbitol factory in Africa and the second in the world, at Ado-Awaye, Iseyin, Oyo State. The factory, built by Psaltry International Company Limited, will, directly and indirectly, impact 100,000 people within a 200km radius of the factory. During the event, Governor Makinde stated that the company would be supported with the rehabilitation of access roads to Alayide Village and the surrounding communities, a bridge linking the factory to its suppliers and the resuscitation of the Eruwa Dam. General Hospital, Tede Commissioning
Governor Seyi Makinde commissioned the renovated and equipped General Hospital, Tede. The upgrade was completed through capitation from the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA). During the commissioning, Governor Makinde urged the people to take advantage of the government’s health insurance scheme to save on out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.
