An update and pictures of the now completed reconstruction of the 2 km Bodija Main Market Road, the construction of a Fire Station, and the construction of a Market Car Park by the Ibadan North Local Government Council.
The reconstruction of the 2 km Bodija Main Market Road (also known as the Orisunbare Road), awarded to Uptown Diamond and Landscaping Limited by the Ibadan North Local Government Council, commenced in August 2025 and has now been completed. The Ibadan North LG Council also completed the construction of a Fire Station to improve emergency response services within the market and surrounding communities, and the construction of a Market Car Park. The projects were commissioned by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, on 6 August 2026.
The reconstructed road will significantly improve movement and connectivity around the Bodija Main Market axis, linking the market through Iso Pako to the Iwo-Ojoo Expressway. The car park and fire station would further enhance the safety, accessibility, and functionality of the Bodija Main Market.
The completion of the Bodija Main Market Road and its complementary facilities underscores the Ibadan North Local Government Council’s commitment to delivering integrated infrastructure that supports commerce, enhances public safety, and improves the overall experience of traders, residents, buyers, and other road users.
The projects add to the growing list of infrastructure projects being delivered across Oyo State to improve connectivity and stimulate economic activities.
