A final update on the reconstruction of the 34.85 km Oyo-Iseyin Road. Though the Oyo-Iseyin Road is a federal road, the reconstruction was awarded by the Oyo State Government to Messrs Kopek Construction Limited in June 2021 after approval was given by the Federal Government. Work on the Oyo-Iseyin Road project commenced at the end of July 2021. However, the project was not officially flagged off until December 2021.
The Oyo-Iseyin Road connects Oyo and Oke-Ogun Zone and passes through the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub which is being constructed by the Oyo State Government. Its completion has improved commuting between Oyo and Oke-Ogun Zones by reducing travel time on that route. It will also increase socio-economic activities in both agrarian zones.
The reconstructed 34.85 km Oyo-Iseyin Road will be commissioned by His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday, 15 September 2023. Former President Obasanjo will also commission the completed Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Iseyin Campus which houses the College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources.
