Governor Seyi Makinde inspected the newly established Oyo State Security Joint Force Base at Mamu Village on the Oyo/Ogun States border. This is in line with the decision taken at the Oyo State Security Task Force meeting on March 15 to secure the state’s entry and exit points. The Security Joint Force is made up of officers of the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. (April 26, 2021)

The Oyo State Civil Service Commission has released the cut-off mark for the applicants who wrote the Computer Based Test for Education Officers II. Speaking about the process, the Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Abiodun Aderibigbe, said recruitment will be based on applicants’ qualifications, performance at the CBT, and the interview conducted by education experts. Interviews have been scheduled to hold between May 18 and 26, 2021 at the Oyo State Civil Service Commission’s Conference Room. Applicants who meet the cut-off marks are encouraged to print letters of invitation from the state’s job portal. (April 26, 2021)

The Oyo State Government donated an automatic transmission car to the acting Director, Education and Social Services, Mr Dauda Adeagbo. The interim director is physically challenged, and the vehicle was designed specially to aid his movement. The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Bayo Lawal, presented the car to him at the ministry’s car park. He said that the action was in fulfilment of the promise made by Governor Seyi Makinde during his campaign to cater to the needs of the physically challenged in the state. (April 26, 2021)

The Oyo State Government paid N1.38billion in gratuities to 456 LGA workers and Primary School Teachers. The Chairman of the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Prince Adebayo Adeyemi, handed cheques to the retirees and the next-of-kin of deceased beneficiaries. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to offset pensions and gratuities owed by previous administrations and pay retirees their dues in good time. (April 26, 2021)

Oyo State Tertiary Committee suspended its eight-week strike after the government’s representatives and officials of the Joint Action Committee resolved their differences. Students of various polytechnics have resumed classes. (April 26, 2021)
Courtesy Visit
Governor Seyi Makinde received the AIG of Police, Zone 11, Olasupo Babatunde Ajani and his team. They were on a courtesy visit to Ibadan. Governor Makinde thanked the police in Oyo State for their work and promised to keep collaborating with them to secure the state. (April 27, 2021)
Empowerment Programme
The Oyo State Government presented cash donations to Voluntary Youth Organisations in the state. The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede, made the presentation to representatives of the beneficiary organisations in an empowerment programme tagged “2021 Annual Grant to Registered Voluntary Youth Organisations.” (April 28, 2021)

The Oyo State Government presented a cheque of fifty million Naira to the Araromi Spare Parts Market fire victims. The cheque was presented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Bayo Lawal. The President of the Ibadan Motor Parks Dealer Association, Mr Olanrewaju Moruf, received the cheques on behalf of the victims. (April 28, 2021)
Collaboration
The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Seun Ashamu, has revealed that the Oyo State Government collaborated with Havenhill Synergy Limited to provide solar hybrid mini-grids in various communities in Oyo State. They will be developing 15 of such mini-grids in various communities in the state. He revealed this after the groundbreaking ceremony of the solar hybrid mini-grid at Alaropo Nla, Oriire Local Government Area. (April 29, 2020)
