Consolidated Salary Scale
The Oyo State Government approved the consolidated salary scale for the Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in all the local government areas of the state. The consolidated salary scale ensures the HLAs receive harmonised pensions after retirement. The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, at a special meeting held at Ibadan with Heads of Local Government Administration and Directors of Education and Social Services. Governor Seyi Makinde was at Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire, to sign the agreement for the execution of Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ). Oyo State is one of the six states in Nigeria chosen by the African Development Bank (AfDB) to be part of the SAPZ initiative. The AfDB will formally launch the programme in Abuja this February 2022. Governor Seyi Makinde received the report of the Oyo State Judicial Panel of Inquiry into Police Brutality, Violation of Rights of Citizens and Unlawful Killings led by Hon Justice Badejoko O. Adeniji (retd). At the presentation, Governor Makinde commended the panel members for the thorough job done and promised he would implement the panel’s recommendations. He also said he would forward the necessary recommendations to the Federal Government. (January 26, 2022)

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State joined Governor Seyi Makinde to commission the 9.7km Saki Township Road Dualisation Project. During the well-attended event, Governor Fintiri commended his Oyo State counterpart for being passionate about the development of Oyo State. He also lauded Governor Makinde for key projects in health, education, rural infrastructure, trade and commerce.
In his response, Governor Makinde thanked the visiting governor for honouring the people of Oyo State. He also said that his administration would continue to carry out viable projects that would positively impact the socio-economic development of Oyo State.
The Saki Township Road was re-awarded in September 2020 following the non-performance of the previous contractor. The project was completed in 15 months. (January 27, 2022)

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Barr Rahman Abiodun Abdul-Raheem, has announced the formal inauguration ceremony of the 643 School Governing Boards of public secondary schools. The event will take place on Monday, January 31, 2022, at the International Conference Centre, the University of Ibadan by 11 a.m. All participants are to be seated by 10 a.m.
