Update: Road Rehabilitation
The Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) continued road repairs in Oyo and Ogbomoso Zones. OYSROMA commenced work at Oja Ijeru-Osolo Road, Ogbomoso South LGA; Iresaadu Township Village/Gambari Road, Surulere LGA; Ile Agun-Ile Kanga Road, Oyo East LGA; Atingisi – Odofufu Road, Oyo West LGA; General Hospital -Fiditi Road and Palace Road in Afijio LGA; and Ajegunle-Adegbite-Okeolola Road, Atiba LGA. Other roads to be rehabilitated include Itamaya – Ayetoro – Maya Road in Oriire LGA; Ajawa-Egeje River Road, opposite Baptist Day School, Ajawa in Ogo Oluwa LGA; and Odeloba Gaa Masifa-Katongua Road, Ogbomoso North LGA. Workers Promotion
The Oyo State Executive Council approved the promotion of 1,629 workers who were denied promotions under the last administration due to systemic errors. The Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun disclosed this at a press briefing held after the Executive Council meeting. (November 22, 2022)
ExCo Approvals
The Oyo State Executive Council approved the construction of a police station and magistrate court at Olomi Correctional Centre, Ibadan, and the renovation of the Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre. The project duration for the construction of the police station is six months while the renovation of the development centre will be completed in six weeks.
Justice of Peace Award
The Oyo State Government conferred the Justice of Peace award on 400 distinguished citizens of Oyo State. The awardees were enjoined to be diligent in fulfilling their roles which include providing administrative and judicial functions which may not be readily accessible in their communities. Some recipients of this award include the Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, Royal fathers, Muslim leaders, and other noteworthy stakeholders.
