3SC’s Final Nigeria Professional Football League Game
Governor Seyi Makinde joined thousands of enthusiastic 3SC fans to cheer the team to victory in the league’s final game at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba. The Shooting Stars Club secured a 1-0 win against Sporting Lagos, finishing fourth in the Nigeria Professional Football League. Governor Makinde encouraged the team to aim higher next season and strive for first place. (23 June 2024)
Courtesy Visit by Nigeria’s Chief of Air Staff
Governor Seyi Makinde received the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, and his entourage on a courtesy visit. Governor Makinde expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian Air Force officers for their contributions to the security of Oyo State as part of ‘Operation Burst’.
During the visit, Governor Makinde discussed the upcoming construction of an Air Force base in Ajia. He said that his administration has approved compensation for those affected by the development and resumed the reconstruction of the 21 km Airport-Ajia-New Ife Express Road with a spur to Amuloko.
Additionally, His Excellency announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the upgrade of Ibadan Airport to international status. This project will include expanding the runway and constructing a new terminal. (26 June 2024)

Governor Seyi Makinde schedules the coronation and presentation of the staff of the office to the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin, for Friday, 12 July 2024. The announcement was made by Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation.

Recruitment of day and night guards in Oyo State public schools
The Oyo State Government initiated the recruitment process for day and night guards in public schools to enhance safety and security. The Post Primary Schools Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Director of Personnel, Mr O. A. Popoola, announced this initiative to all zones on behalf of the TESCOM Chairman. The Personnel Department of TESCOM will oversee the implementation of this recruitment. (23 June 2024)
Minor Reshuffle of Oyo State Cabinet
Governor Seyi Makinde approved a minor cabinet reshuffle. Here are the names of the reshuffled cabinet members and their positions:
- Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, from the Commissioner for Establishments and Training to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives.
- Hon. Segun Olayiwola from Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters to the Ministry of Establishments and Training.
- Hon. Ademola Ojo, from Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.

Recruitment portal for primary school teachers in Oyo State
The Oyo State Government opened a job portal for the recruitment of 7,000 primary school teachers. The portal for public primary school teachers opened at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 25 June 2024. Announcing the opening of the portal, the Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, reiterated that this initiative is part of the Oyo State Government’s efforts to reduce unemployment among its citizens. The portal requires each candidate to register using their email, phone number, and National Identification Number (NIN). Applicants can apply via this link https://subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng./. The application period will run from 25 June 2024 to 9 July 2024. (25 June 2024)
Recruitment announcement for secondary school teachers in Oyo State
The Oyo State Government has announced the opening of a job portal for the recruitment of 7,500 secondary school teachers and 3,000 non-teaching staff. The recruitment commenced on Friday, 28 June 2024.
While making the announcement, Pastor Akinade Alamu, the Chairman of the Oyo State Post-Primary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), said that all qualified candidates, including the physically challenged, are encouraged to apply, as the positions will be merit-based.
To apply, candidates must register using their email, phone number, and National Identification Number (NIN). Interested applicants can access the application portal at https://tescom.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng/.
