The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede, paid a visit to the Foko, Agbeni and Agbokojo areas of Ibadan to interact with the youths in these communities. He said the visit was to bring the youths closer to the government, know the extent that government policies have influenced their lives, and discover how the government can further increase youth involvement in development and sports. AWARDED
The Oyo State Executive Council approved the disbursement of N279.5 million for the printing of 2.6 million customised ballot papers ahead of the Oyo State Local Government election. According to the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, the project was awarded to Nigerian Security Printing and Minting, Nigeria’s apex security printers, at the cost of N100 per sheet. POSTPONED
The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has announced the postponement of the local government elections scheduled for May 15, 2021. The election will now take place on May 22, 2021. The OYSEIC Chairman, Mr Isiaka Olagunju stated that the election was postponed because the Eid-el-Fitr holiday falls on May 15, 2021
COURTESY VISIT
The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section of Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL), Prof. Paul Ananaba (SAN) and his team, paid Governor Seyi Makinde a courtesy visit. The visit was to seek the support of the Oyo State Government for the NBA-SPIDEL annual conference which will be hosted in Ibadan in May 23-26, 2021. (April 22, 2021)
