OYSG Bursary Award
The Oyo State Scholarship Board commenced the 2024/2025 bursary award programme for final-year undergraduate, HND, clinical, aviation, and maritime students of Oyo State descent across Nigerian public tertiary institutions. Qualified students are encouraged to apply online at https://bursary.oyostate.gov.ng/2024/ as the application process closes on 31 August 2024. (28 July 2024).
Accreditation of 31 Academic Programmes at LAUTECH
Governor Seyi Makinde received accolades from the Vice Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, as the National Universities Commission accredited all 31 academic programmes presented by the university.
In a letter to the governor, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof R. O. Rom Kalilu, commended him for supporting the institution which ensured the success of the accreditation exercise. (29 July 2024).
Hazard Allowance for OYRTMA personnel
Governor Seyi Makinde approved a hazard allowance for Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authorities personnel. He stated this during the passing-out parade of the 500 newly recruited officers and the inauguration of 50 marshals. Governor Makinde further announced that the hazard allowance will take effect on 1 August 2024. (30 July 2024).
Fertiliser Distribution for Oyo State Farmers
The Oyo State Government began the distribution of 21,000 bags of fertilisers, provided by the Federal Government, to over 10,500 farmers in the State. The Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, at the distribution held at the OYSADA warehouse in Oyo Town, described the initiative as a testament to the government’s resolve to increase food production and boost the economy of the State. 11-Member Committee for Ibadan Airport Upgrade
The members of the committee led by Mr Bimbo Adekambi, a former commissioner of finance, include Alhaji Kabir Yusuf, the former MD of the FAAN, Dr Wale Babalakin SAN, Air Commodore Ibitoye Ajiboye, Wing Commander Onyedinma, Squadron Leader Sheu, Engr Ayo Opasanya, Arc Wale Okubadejo, Arc Oluyomi Onilude, Ms Seyi Akinbohun and Mr Ademola Aderinto. Abiola Ajimobi Technical University Bill Signed
Governor Seyi Makinde signed the bill to effect the renaming of the First Technical University to Abiola Ajimobi Technical University. Governor Makinde also approved N1.4 billion for the infrastructure upgrade of the university. While signing the bill into law, he reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the State’s education sector. (31 July 2024)
