The Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency calls for applications into the Oyo State Youth in Agribusiness Tomatoes Project.

The Oyo State Youth in Agribusiness Tomatoes Project is an agribusiness project which aims at developing new entrant young farmers in the state through the Oyo State Agribusiness Incubation Park Centres.

The project will provide the participants with enhanced technical, business and entrepreneurial skills for profitable cultivation of tomatoes. Successful applicants will be exposed to the best in technical practices and guidance in tomato production and equipped with transferable skills and modern approaches in the production of other crops.

The overall goal of this program is to improve youth productive skills and transform them into Agribusiness entrepreneurs in the tomato value chain.

Open to: Youths in Awe in Oyo, Igboora in Ibarapa and Tede in Oke-Ogun.

    1. Hello. Please, send a letter of intent addressed to His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Oyo State and copy the Director-General of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA). Also, include a business plan to go along with the letter. You may drop off at OYSADA Admin office at Total Garden, Agodi, Ibadan.

  4. Is Oyo State a real place? Or is this a play on words? I know a young tomato grower in Ghana who wants to go back to school. Would he be eligible?

    1. Hello. The programme is open to youths aged 20-35 resident in Awe in Oyo, Igboora in Ibarapa and Tede in Oke-Ogun. You do not have to be an indigene to apply.

    Can I apply?

    1. Hello, all chosen youths will work within the Agribusiness Park located in Aawe, Tede and Igboora. For this reason, it is restricted to youths in those areas as proximity may make it not profitable for people outside these areas.

  8. Hello, I have not hear anything about this Agri business, am really anticipating for it, I reside in Oyo.

    1. Thank you for contacting us. The training is currently ongoing in Awe only. Those who applied in Igbo-Ora and Tede are yet to be contacted. They will be contacted when the project is about to commence in those places. The delay is due to COVID-19 slowing down the preparation of the incubation parks for the trainings.
