Enrolment of 100,000 for Health Insurance

The Oyo State Government has paid the health insurance premiums for an additional 100,000 vulnerable persons in the State under SAfER. The Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA), Dr Sola Akande, stated that the enrollment will cover vulnerable groups, people living with disabilities, children under five (5) and pregnant women from all the 33 Local Government Areas in Oyo State.  (7 January 2024)

Inspection visit to public schools in Ibadan

The Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. AbdulWaheed Adelabu Salihu, led a team from the ministry to inspect public schools in Ibadan on the first day of resumption of the second term of the school year. Prof. Saliu expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance demonstrated by students and teachers at the schools visited. He also encouraged parents who had not already done so to send their children to schools. Some schools visited include Oba Akinbiyi Model School, Mokola; St. Louis Grammar School, Mokola; Government Secondary School, Orita-Aperin, Ibadan, amongst others. (8 January 2023)

Approval of Increase in Salaries and Allowances

Governor Seyi Makinde approved an increase in salaries and other allowances for all the staff of the Oyo State House of Assembly and the State House of Assembly Commission. Speaking at the annual interfaith service for civil servants in Oyo State, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, said the approval includes a 35% basic salary increase, a 30% increase of other allowances under the Negotiated Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure with 10% annual basic salary to be reinstated as leave bonus. Oyo State Government Inter-Faith Service

The Oyo State Government held the 2024 Annual Inter-Faith Service in Ibadan. Speaking at the event, Governor Seyi Makinde appreciated Oyo State Civil Servants for their commitment towards the success of the State and reassured them their welfare will continue to be prioritised. (9 January 2024)

Handing over of 100 operational vehicles to security agencies

The Oyo State Government handed over an additional 100 operational vehicles equipped with communication gadgets to security agencies in Oyo State. The security agencies that benefited from this support include the Police, “Operation Burst’’, DSS, Correctional Service and Oyo Amotekun. Vehicles were also handed over to the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA). Speaking at the handover ceremony, Governor Seyi Makinde thanked officers of all security agencies and reiterated that his administration will continue to support them in discharging their duties effectively.
