An update and pictures of the completed reconstruction of Olorunda, Aare Alasa Market in Akanran, Ona Ara Local Government Area, under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).
The market upgrade was awarded to Quickbond Nigeria Limited and co-funded by the Oyo State Government, the World Bank and the French Development Agency (AFD).
The reconstruction forms part of efforts to improve rural market infrastructure, strengthen access to agricultural markets and support economic activities across Oyo State.
Other markets, now also completed, are the Oja Agbe Market in Iseyin Local Government Area and Oja Oba Market in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area.
Through RAAMP, the Oyo State Government is improving market facilities and access roads, helping rural communities connect more effectively to markets and trade opportunities.
