An update and pictures of the 2.15 km Oke Ado-Tribune-Imale Falafia-Ososami-Iyana Adeoyo Junction, Ring Road, Ibadan road reconstruction.
The reconstructed Oke Ado-Tribune-Imale Falafia-Ososami-Iyana Adeoyo Junction, Ring Road road is located in the Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Ibadan. It starts from the Lodge Area on Oke Ado, passes through the Tribune Newspaper Headquarters’ Office, Imale Falafia, Ososami, and ends at Adeoyo Junction on Challenge-Mile 110 road.
Works done on the Oke Ado-Tribune-Imale Falafia-Ososami-Iyana Adeoyo Junction, Ring Road, Ibadan road reconstruction include:
- Cutting off failed spots and removing unsuitable materials within the potholes
- Scarification of distressed sections of the road
- Construction of 2.0 metre by 1.5 metre single-cell box culverts
- Construction of 0.6 metre by 0.6 metre open reinforced concrete lined drain
- Desilting of drains
- Construction of covered drain
- Provision of 200-millimetre thick lateritic sub-base
- Provision of 150-millimetres thick crushed stone base
- Provision of compacted 40-millimetre asphaltic concrete binder course as a regulation course
- Provision of compacted 40-millimetre asphaltic concrete wearing course as overlay
- Kerbs painting
- Road markings and road signs.
The Oke Ado-Tribune-Imale Falafia-Ososami-Iyana Adeoyo Junction, Ring Road, Ibadan Road, was constructed as part of Lot 3. Both roads under Lot 2 (handled by Ratcon Construction Company), the 3.5 km Oke Adu-Ode Aje-Aremo-Orita Aperin Road and the 10.8 km Bus Stop Gate-Oje-Beere-Oja Oba-Molete Under Bridge Road are now complete.
The repair of feeder roads in Ibadan will be extended to every zone in Oyo State as it is a priority under Omituntun 2.0.
