A final update and pictures of the completed reconstruction of the Oke Adu-Ode Aje-Aremo-Orita Aperin Road (3.5 km). The Oke Adu-Ode Aje-Aremo-Orita Aperin Road is one of two roads under Lot 2 of roads approved for reconstruction by the Oyo State Executive Council on 5 December 2023. The other road, the Bus Stop Gate-Oje-Beere-Oja Oba-Molete Under Bridge Road, is also completed. Both projects were handled by Ratcon Construction Company.
Similar to the Bus Stop Gate-Molete Under Bridge project, the Oke Adu-Ode Aje-Aremo-Orita Aperin Road underwent the following works:
- Cutting off failed spots and removing unsuitable materials within the potholes
- Scarification of distressed sections of the road
- Desilting of drains
- Construction of 0.6 m x 0.6 m open reinforced concrete lined drain
- Construction of 1.0 m x 1.0 m open reinforced concrete lined drain
- Provision of 200-millimetre thick sub-base
- Provision and placing of 150-millimetre thick crushed stone base
- Provision of a compacted 40-millimetre asphaltic concrete binder course as a regulating course
- Provision of a compacted 40-millimetre asphaltic concrete wearing course as an overlay
- Road marking
The Oke Adu-Ode Aje-Aremo-Orita Aperin Road was part of eight feeder roads in Ibadan totalling 38.48 km commissioned on 11 July 2024 by Governor Seyi Makinde. The road provides a link to several roads and landmarks in the Ibadan North East Local Government Area, such as the Oje-Beere Road, Orita Aperin-Beere Road, Agugu Police Station-Oremeji Bridge Road, O.L.A Catholic Hospital Oluyoro Oke-Ofa, Irefin Palace, and the General Hospital Aremo.
