Araromi Auto Spare Parts Market Fire

Governor Seyi Makinde met with the market leaders of the Araromi Auto Spare Parts Market, Agodi Gate. He discussed the palliative measures that the government would provide for victims of the fire incident in the market and the future of the market. He promised that his administration would do everything mutually beneficial to restructure and redesign the market. (April 05, 2021)

50th Annual Accountants Conference

Governor Seyi Makinde attended the 50th Annual Accountants Conference hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He spoke on the topic: ‘Achieving Sustainable Leadership Through E-government in the 4th Industrial Revolution.’ [Full Speech] (April 06, 2021).


Deputy Governor Rauf Olaniyan attended the funeral of Prince Adetunji Wasiu Gbadegesin, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice. The Solicitor General passed away on Tuesday, April 06 2021. (April 07, 2021)

New refuse disposal scheme

The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr Abdulateef Oyeleke, announced a new waste disposal scheme. Dr Oyeleke said that the government had employed accredited revenue consultants responsible for billing clients and receiving payment through specific banks instead of PSP operators. He also said all dumping sites in Ibadan have been shut down. Only the adequately equipped Awotan landfill site is functional for now. (April 07, 2021)

Assessment visit

The Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Nureni Adeniran, paid an assessment visit to St. John’s Primary School located in Fenwa, Ido Local Government. He announced that the school will benefit from the state government’s 2020 UBEC/SUBEB intervention program that will see the renovation of the existing block of classrooms and the construction of a new block of three classrooms. He also said the school will get a borehole, furniture and toilet facilities. (April 07, 2021)


The Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, inaugurated the governing council of the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology. The council is led by Dr Aaron Ogundiwin as Chairman. Other members of the governing council are: Dr Adebisi Muftau Ayoola, Mrs A. A Fasina, Mrs A. B. Atere, Sanitarian M. A. Ganiyu, Pharmacist O.M. Oyewo, Mrs O.M. Fatunbi, Pastor O. S. Makinde, Dr S.O. Oyawale, Mrs O. F. Moradeyo and Mrs O. O. Ayoola who is to serve as the secretary of the council. (April 07, 2021)
