The Oyo State Government suspended a student of Jericho High School, Ibadan, for assaulting a male student, school teachers and other parents present at the PTA meeting of the school. The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdul-Raheem, stated that the current administration has zero tolerance for impunity while charging students, parents, and stakeholders to participate in Governor Seyi Makinde’s free quality education programmes. The Oyo State Environmental Task Force arrested about eighty persons for violating environmental laws in Ibadan. The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mr Abiodun Oni, explained that these people were arrested for dumping refuse at an unauthorised location in the city and were fined for this act. (November 30, 2021)
Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the new list of Secretaries, Supervisory Councillors and Special Assistants for the 33 Local Government and 35 Local Council Development Areas in Oyo State. Governor Makinde withdrew the first list published earlier after it was noticed that it had been manipulated. (December 1, 2021)
The Ministry of Youth and Sports will celebrate 100 influential young persons who have made their marks in their various fields of endeavours at an event tagged the Oyo State Youth Award (OYA 2021).
