New Head Coach for 3SC

The Management of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) unveiled Gbenga Ogunbote as the new Head Coach of the club. At the unveiling ceremony, the Chairman of 3SC, Mr Babatunde Olaniyan, said the dream of the state and management is to restore the lost glory of the Oluyole Warriors. Mr Ogunbote would be returning to Shooting Stars for the third time. He has coached other top sides such as Enyimba FC, Sunshine Stars, Giwa FC, and Rangers International FC of Enugu. The new Head Coach was presented with an official branded car at the unveiling ceremony. (August 22, 2022)

Grants and Loans for Oyo-CARES Beneficiaries

The Oyo State Investment and Public Private Partnership Agency (OYSIPA) presented cheques to the first batch of beneficiaries of the Oyo-CARES programme. The grants and loans were targeted at Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) who had difficulty paying off loans they took during COVID-19 and other individuals struggling to keep their businesses afloat due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. In attendance were the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Prof. Musibau Babatunde; his finance counterpart, Mr Akinola Ojo; and the Director-General of OYSIPA, Ms Lola Olutola. (August 23, 2022)

Land Owners Compensated 

The Oyo State Government compensated land owners whose lands were acquired by the previous administration for developmental projects in Ibadan. The Commissioner for Lands, Housing, Survey and Urban Development, Mr Olusegun Emmanuel Olayiwola, who handed out cheques to beneficiaries at the state secretariat, confirmed the total sum of fifty-two million, fifty-three thousand, seven hundred and eleven naira (N52,053,711) disbursed was for the acquired 16.3 hectares of land at Sogunro axis in Akinyele Local Government Area for State Model Schools at forty-eight million, eight hundred and eighty-eight thousand and forty-five naira (N48,888,045) and the 3.028 hectares of land at the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, acquired for the gas plant project at three million, one hundred and sixty-five thousand, sixty-six naira (N3,165,066).
