Governor Seyi Makinde appoints SSG
Governor Seyi Makinde announced Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo as the Oyo State Secretary to the State Government. Prof. Adeyemo was, before her appointment, a professor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ibadan. She also had previously led the Oyo State COVID-19 Decontamination and Containment Team. Assessment Visit to Flooded Areas
Officials of the Oyo State Government visited the sites of collapsed bridges and roads at Olodo Garage, Ido, and Akinyele in Ibadan. The inspection team comprising representatives from the Ministries of Public Works and Transport; Environment and Natural Resources; the Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project (IUFMP); the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA); and the Oyo State Emergency Management Agency (OYSEMA) conducted an on-the-spot assessment at the sites. During the visit, Mrs Modupe Adeleye, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, assured the victims of the flood of the government’s commitment to taking swift action by providing alternative routes and other palliative measures. OYSEMA will enumerate houses affected by the flood for prompt assistance. (July 24, 2023)
Swearing in Ceremony for SSG, HOS, Commissioners, Others
Governor Seyi Makinde swore in the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo; Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni; 16 Commissioners, Accountant General, Mrs Kikelomo Adegoke; and newly appointed permanent secretaries. During the ceremony, Governor Makinde urged the newly sworn-in officials to put in their best in service to the good people of Oyo State. He also reassured residents of Oyo State of quality service delivery. (July 26, 2023)

Courtesy Visit
Governor Seyi Makinde received Mr Kabir Mohammed, Managing Director/Chief Executive Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), on a courtesy visit. The visit was aimed at strengthening the collaboration between the state and the federal agency on aviation matters. Mr Mohammed was accompanied by Air Commodore I. V. Ajiboye, the Commander National Air Defence Corps, and the Ibadan Airport Manager, Mr Adedeji Ojo. (July 26, 2023)
Roads Rehabilitation
OYSROMA began the inspection of roads needing rehabilitation in Ibadan. The inspection followed Governor Seyi Makinde’s directive when he visited the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) office on July 18, 2023. Rehabilitation of roads in Ibadan has already commenced. (July 27, 2023).
