Update: Road Rehabilitation
The Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) continued road repairs in Oyo, Ibadan and Ogbomoso Zones. OYSROMA progressed with work at Oja Ijeru-Osolo Road, Ogbomoso South LGA, Mile 110 – Odo Ona Road (en-route Apata), Ibadan, even as more were earmarked for rehabilitation. OYSROMA also constructed a rubble-stone drain at Iresaadu Township – Gambari Road, Surulere LGA. (November 28, 2022).
Sanctions for WAEC Delisted Oyo Schools
The Oyo State Government is set to sanction the parents and principals of 50 schools delisted for exam malpractice. The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barr. Abiodun Abdu-Raheem said this while reiterating the zero tolerance of the state for examination malpractice. The schools delisted include a mix of public and private-owned schools in the state. Agribusiness Partnership
The Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) welcomed FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC to the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial hub. FrieslandCampina moves into Fasola Agribusiness Hub to commence livestock breeding and dairy production.
During the visit, the Managing Director of Friesland Campina, WAMCO Plc, Mr Ben Langnat, gave kudos to the Oyo State Government for developing the Fasola Agribusiness hub in Oyo, saying that the company is happy to partner with the Oyo State Government on such a noble project and one that could turn the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub into the diary hub of Nigeria.
On his part, the DG of OYSADA, Dr Debo Akande, who was on hand to receive the team from FrieslandCampina, noted that the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub is a pilot project which would be replicated across the state and one which is already generating revenue into the government coffers. e-Tax Collection App
The Oyo State Government launched an e-Tax Collection app. The app was launched to systemize tax collection and support the growth of the Internally Generated Revenue in the state. Speaking at the launch, the Chairman, Oyo State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Adebowale ‘Femi Awakan noted that Oyo State is already tapping into Information Communication Technology (ICT) to drive its economic agenda in line with global best practices. The app will help to block financial leakages and fraudulent transactions and improve the government-taxpayer relationship in terms of confidence building and guarantee improvement in expected revenues. Resumption of Academic Activities at the College of Education, Iseyin
The National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) approved the College of Education, Iseyin, for the resumption of academic activities. The Director Academic Programmes Department of NCCE, Dr Umar Adamu Kwami, approved the resumption of academic activities at the College. Mr Owosenje Adewale, the Proprietor and Chairman Governing Board of the College of Education, Iseyin, received the letter on behalf of the Oyo State Government. (November 25, 2022).
