Courtesy Visit by the New United States Consul
The Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal received the new United States Consul General, Mr Williams Stevens and his entourage on a courtesy visit in Ibadan. During the visit, Barr. Lawal assured them of the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration’s openness to partner with the United States of America in agriculture, health, and security to enhance the quality of life for its citizens. Update: Ibadan Roads Rehabilitation
The Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) continued the rehabilitation of roads across Ibadan. Some of the roads being rehabilitated are Dugbe-Oke-Ado-Molete Road; Jemibewon-Cele-Oando Filling Station Road; Mokola-Dugbe-Iyaganku-Mile 110 Road; Secretariat-Government House Road, Oluwo Nla-Water Corporation of Oyo State Reservoir Road; Bibilari Road; Orelere Street off Bibilari/Officer’s Mess Road Junction; and Bayo Oyeleke Street Ikolaba Area Road. The roads are undergoing standard cutting, filling with stone base and asphalt laying. (November 16, 2022)
International Students’ Day 2022
The Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal celebrated International Students’ Day 2022 with representatives of Oyo State student organisations in Ibadan. During the celebration, Barr. Lawal confirmed the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for students to excel in their academic endeavours. He also said that the Aluta buses would be delivered as promised. Flag Off of Gas Project Construction
Governor Seyi Makinde flagged off the construction of the Oyo State Government (OYSG) and Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd (SNG) Gas Project in Ibadan. Governor Makinde revealed that the project is for the construction of a Pressure Reduction and Metering Station (PRMS) by SNG on a Build- Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis. He said the infrastructure would deliver gas to industrial, manufacturing and commercial entities and serve new emerging industrial corridors, industrial parks/zones, and Independent Power Projects while providing stable power generation for industrial and residential use in Oyo State. Justice Day 2022
The Oyo State Government held the first-ever Justice Day with Governor Seyi Makinde attending as the Keynote Speaker. The event, which was tagged ‘Justice for All; All for Justice’, was hosted by the Ministry of Justice in Ibadan. During the event, Governor Makinde unveiled the Attorneys General of Oyo State Pantheon, approved the alternative dress code for law officers, and presented the Pacesetter Law Journal publicly.
