Promise Kept
TESCOM commenced the distribution of appointment letters to successful candidates in the last teacher recruitment exercise. While indigenes collected their letters from the TESCOM zonal offices where their LGA of origin falls under, non-indigenes received theirs at the TESCOM office at State Secretariat, Agodi. Successful candidates resumed work upon accepting their appointments. (February 01, 2021)
Security Architecture Rolled Out
As part of measures to turn the heat on kidnapping and other criminal activities in parts of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde met with traditional rulers in Ibarapa land, spoke with student representatives of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora and engaged with stakeholders in Igbo-Ora and Igangan. Additional operational vehicles were also handed over to the Amotekun Corps in the Ibarapa zone. (February 01, 2021)
Gratuities Payment Update
The Oyo State Government has paid gratuities to 76 more state retirees. The cheques were presented by the Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Alhaji ‘Siju Lawal. The backlog of gratuity payments made covers June 2012 to August 2013. The state government inherited a gratuity debt of about N28billion from the previous administration. (February 01, 2021)
Inspected
Governor Seyi Makinde paid an inspection visit to Pacesetter Transport Service. The transport company took delivery of some of the 106 mass transit buses which arrived Oyo State earlier this year. The buses will commence operations as soon as necessary modalities have been put in place. (February 02, 2021)
45 Happy Cheers!
Oyo State celebrated its 45th anniversary on February 03, 2021. In his celebratory message, Governor Seyi Makinde pledged to continue building on the legacies of the state. He said his administration would continue to implement policies and programmes that showcase the state as a real pacesetter in human and physical development. (February 03, 2021)
Installed
The Oyo State Government installed a 300KVA generator at the Scout Camp Neighbourhood Business Complex, Challenge. The generator will boost the market and make it more conducive to traders who are mostly farmers. The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barr. Seun Ashamu and the Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Adeniyi Adebisi were on hand to inspect the newly installed generator. (February 03, 2021)
