Flag off of Foodstuffs Distribution

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, flagged off the distribution of foodstuffs in Oyo State by handing over the foodstuffs  to Local Government Chairmen for equitable distribution to vulnerable citizens in Oyo State in the 33 local government areas. The items which were donated by the Federal Government were drawn from the National Strategic Reserve and included 25,740 bags of maize (50kg each) and 5,280 bags of Garri (25kg each). (1 July 2024)

Coronation of Monarchs: Onifiditi of Fiditi

The Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal presented the instruments of office to the Onifiditi of Fiditi, Oba Adekola Oyelere.

During the coronation ceremony, His Excellency urged the monarch to collaborate with the State Government in addressing pressing issues such as education, healthcare and security. (4 July 2024)

Coronation of Monarchs: Alaawe of Awe

The Alaawe of Aawe, Oba Cornelius Taiwo Oladokun, was presented with his staff of office by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal. Speaking at the coronation ceremony, His Excellency charged the new monarch to work with the State Government to address the security challenges within his community. Oba Oladokun ascended the throne in 1991. (5 July 2024)

The Oyo State Government declared Monday, 8 July 2024, a work-free day in observance of the Islamic New Year Hijrah 1446AH.
