The 3.1 km Olorunsogo Expressway, Ibadan

A final update and pictures of the completed dualisation of the 3.1 km Olorunsogo Expressway, Ibadan, executed by the Ona Ara Local Government Council. The dualisation of the Olorunsogo Expressway commenced in January 2022 but was re-awarded to Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited who completed the project in September 2024. The scope of the now-completed dualisation project covers Olorunsogo Expressway to Ariyo.

The completion of the Olorunsogo Expressway dualisation project is already addressing the traffic congestion along the Olorunsogo-Ariyo axis. While the dualisation concludes at Ariyo, the Oyo State Government remains committed to completing the road reconstruction from Ariyo to Dagbolu during this tenure as part of the larger 37 km Beere-Olorunsogo-Amuloko-Akanran-Dagbolu Road reconstruction initiative.

The Ona Ara Local Government Council has also completed the rehabilitation of the 5.98 km Oremeji Agugu Express-Onigbese Stream-IGEM-Airport Road, Ibadan. Other LG projects in Oyo State can be seen here.

  1. I commend the efforta of the Omitutun and his current administration.

While the road is noteworthy, I would like to draw your attention to the current state of the Awotunde/Olosunde/Olopometa/Eniayenfe/Ogbere road, which serves as an alternative route to reach Tioya and other areas leading to Amuloko/Airport Road. The condition of this road has deteriorated significantly due to the heavy traffic of vehicles and trailers that passed through during the dualisation of the aforementioned project.

I kindly urge your esteemed government to consider addressing these roads before they revert to their pre-Akala state.

    Thank you.
