Gratuities Paid
The Oyo State Government has paid the gratuities of 436 primary school teachers and local government personnel in the state. During the presentation of cheques to the retirees, the Special Adviser on Labour Affairs to Governor Seyi Makinde, Comrade Titilola Sodo, revealed that the government had paid a total of N13.69 billion in gratuity payments since June 2019. Courtesy Visit
Members and officials of the Slovenian football club, NK Tabor Sežana paid Governor Seyi Makinde a courtesy call in Ibadan ahead of their international friendly match against the Shooting Stars Sports Club. The Oyo State Government held a one-day training and capacity building programme for vehicle inspection officers at the Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) Centre, Ibadan. At the training, the Head of Service, Alhaja Amidat Ololade Agboola urged the vehicle inspection officers to be professional in carrying out their responsibilities. (August 30, 2021)
Courtesy Visit
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Oyo State, Mutiu Agboke, paid Governor Seyi Makinde a courtesy visit in Ibadan. In his remarks during the visit, Governor Makinde restated his support for electronic transmission of results as a way of improving the electoral system and reducing violence during elections. His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria, officially unveiled the main bowl of the remodelled Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan. The remodelled facility now includes a standard grass pitch; Olympic standard tartan track; a training pitch; a VIP lounge; a state-of-the-art studio and panel room with automated gadgets which control the new electronic scoreboards, the newly installed floodlights and CCTV cameras; video assistant referee (VAR) facilities and pitch-side monitors; four new separate changing rooms with wet areas for each one; match officials’ arena; a mixed zone area for players and officials; a youth centre; a press arena and a medical arena.
