Gratuity Payments

The Oyo State Government paid a backlog of gratuities to 378 Local Government retirees. The Chairman of the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Prince Adebayo Adeyemi, speaking at the presentation event held at the Water Corporation Building, restated the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration’s commitment to clearing all outstanding gratuities in the state. He also urged the retirees to support government policies and use their gratuities judiciously. (April 24, 2022)

Convocation Ceremony

Governor Seyi Makinde attended the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) 14th Combined Convocation Ceremonies in Ogbomosho. In his remarks, Governor Makinde congratulated the graduands and charged them to remain resilient in order to succeed in the new challenging phase of their lives. (April 24, 2022)

Commissioning 

While attending the 14th combined convocation ceremonies at LAUTECH in Ogbomoso, Governor Seyi Makinde commissioned the Seyi Makinde Innovation and Technology Hub (SMITH) of the Centre for Emerging Skills Technology (CEST) which includes new age technological facilities. Governor Makinde also commissioned the newly completed Multipurpose Hall built by the alumni of the university. (April 24, 2022)

Project Commissioning

The Edo State Governor, His Excellency Godwin Obaseki, commissioned the new mass transit buses and the Challenge and Ojoo Bus Terminals in Ibadan. Speaking at the joint commissioning ceremony, Governor Obaseki commended Governor Seyi Makinde for delivering the two massive bus terminals among other projects despite the current economic challenges in the country. Governor Seyi Makinde in his remarks described the projects as marking a new dawn in the transport system of Oyo State. (April 26, 2022)

Condolence Visit

Governor Seyi Makinde paid a condolence visit to the family of His Imperial Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Làmídì Oláyíwolá Àtàndá Adéyemí III, the Alaafin of Oyo following Kabiyesi’s transition. Governor Makinde, in his remarks at the palace, acknowledged that the transitioning of the Alaafin of Oyo would leave a gap in the lives of the good people of Oyo State and Nigerians. He also expressed his gratitude for the long and impactful life lived and the legacy Kabiyesi left behind.  (April 24, 2022)

INEC discloses that over 45,000 Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) are ready for collection in Oyo State. 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disclosed that over 45,000 Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) belonging to voters who registered between June 28 and December 2021 are ready for collection in Oyo State. In her public address, the Head of Department, Voters Education, and Publicity, at INEC in Oyo State, Mrs. Rosemary Adeniyi, urged concerned voters to visit the commission’s offices across the 33 local government areas of the state for collection.
