Now Completed: Reconstruction of the 10.8 km Bus Stop Gate-Oje-Beere-Oja Oba-Molete Under Bridge Road

An update and pictures of the completed reconstruction of the Bus Stop Gate-Oje-Beere-Oja Oba-Molete Under Bridge Road (10.8 km). The Bus Stop Gate-Oje-Beere-Oja Oba-Molete Under Bridge Road project is one of two roads in Lot 2 approved for reconstruction on 5 December 2023 by the Oyo State Executive Council. The reconstruction works were done by Ratcon Construction Company.

The second of the Lot 2 roads approved for reconstruction is the 3.5 km Oke Adu-Ode Aje-Aremo-Orita Aperin Road which has also been completed. The Executive Council approved the reconstruction of 12 roads in Ibadan under Lots 1 and 2.

The Bus Stop Gate-Oje-Beere-Oja Oba-Molete Under Bridge Road project traverses the Ibadan North East and South East Local Government Areas, and works done include:

Cutting off failed spots and removal of unsuitable materials within the potholes
Scarification of distressed sections of the road
Provision of 200 millimetre thick sub base
Provision and placing of 150 millimetre thick crushed stone base
Provision of a compacted 40 millimetre asphaltic concrete binder course as a regulating course
Provision of a compacted 40-millimetre asphaltic concrete wearing course as an overlay
Painting of kerbstones
Road marking and signs.

Three other road reconstruction projects are underway under Lot 1 of approved roads to be reconstructed in Ibadan. The repair of feeder roads in Ibadan will be extended to every zone in Oyo State as it is a priority under Omituntun 2.0.
