The construction of the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University Health Centre, undertaken by the Oluyole Local Government Council, is now completed and commissioned for use.
The project is a promise kept by the Oyo State Government made during the Second Convocation and Graduation Ceremony of the institution’s pioneer set of engineering students on 31 March 2023. At the event, Governor Seyi Makinde Governor approved the construction of a Category 3 Primary Health Centre. He stated that the facility would provide continuous and comprehensive healthcare services to students and all members of the institution’s staff.
Governor Makinde also announced the renaming of the school from First Technical University to Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan, in honour of the late former Governor of Oyo State during the same ceremony.
Executed as a local government project by the Oluyole Local Government Council, the project was contracted to A-B Bond Habitat Limited. The newly completed health centre has been officially commissioned for use, strengthening healthcare access within the university community and supporting the well-being of students, academic staff, and non-academic personnel.
The facility is equipped with key service areas designed to support efficient primary healthcare delivery, including separate male and female wards, the Director’s office, two consultants’ offices, a nursing room, pharmacy, records room, and a laboratory. These dedicated spaces ensure that the centre is well-positioned to provide quality medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and patient care services within the campus environment.
The completion of the project also reflects the continued collaboration between the State and local government in delivering people-focused infrastructure that directly improves public service access.
