May Day Ceremony
Oyo State Government workers were hosted for the Workers’ Day 2022 celebrations at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan. During the ceremony, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, who represented Governor Seyi Makinde, praised both private and public workers in the state for their diligence in labour which already translated into economic growth and promoted commerce in the state. Transporters’ Orientation
The Oyo State Government organised a two-day orientation programme for transporters and users of the newly commissioned bus terminals ahead of its operational take-off. Speaking at the event which held at Challenge and Ojoo Bus Terminals in Ibadan, the General Manager of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency (OYRTMA), Mr. Ayoade Adeoye charged the participants to adhere to the health and security tips provided and imbibe a new attitude while working at the terminals. Civil Service Appointments
The Oyo State Government approved the appointment of 30 new officers into the state’s civil service. The list of appointments includes seven (7) Permanent Secretaries, ten (10) Inspectors-General of Education, ten (10) Tutors-General and the Surveyor-General of the state. (May 2, 2022)
Schools IT Upskilling
The Oyo State Government partnered with the Advocacy Unit of the Media and Digital Skills Centre, Nigeria to train students in Coding, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Drone Technology. According to the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Rahman Abiodun Abduraheem, beneficiary schools for the project are Bishop Phillips Academy, C.A.C Grammar School, and St Anne’s School all in Ibadan. The programme will take off on May 9, 2022. Operational Vehicle Deployment
Oyo Amotekun deployed 100 patrol vehicles to all local government areas in the state. The 100 patrol vehicles were handed over to Oyo Amotekun by Governor Seyi Makinde on April 1, 2022. The deployment is in keeping with Governor Makinde’s promise to continue to prioritise security in Oyo State. (May 5, 2022)
Omituntun Free Health Mission 2022
The first quarter of the Omituntun Free Health Mission has kicked off in Ibadan. The free health mission at Ajia Primary Health Centre (PHC), is scheduled for walk-in patients to receive free treatment for ailments like hernia, hypertension, diabetes and malaria. The mission also includes free drugs and minor surgeries. (May 6, 2022)
